Health Benefits of Juicing

MultiV Greenie Juice

Organic Juice of the Week –

The MultiV Greenie

Juicing is my daily multi vitamin in a glass. I have juiced nearly every morning for the last 4 years but didn’t discover juicing with green vegetables or organics until recently, and love it!

Today I ‘slow press’ juiced a combo of organic kale, spinach, purple carrots, parsley, a royal gala apple, and an orange… My Greenie MultiV!! I switched to organics two weeks ago and I can really taste the difference and feel the difference. My body craves having a fresh ‘greenie’ juice in the mornings, together with my breakfast, and I no longer feel for snacking until lunchtime. I don’t need to watch my weight, but great for those who do.

Juicing a variety of natural, organic vegetables can do wonders for your health and is a multi vitamin source in its natural form. One of my favourites is super-nutritious kale which I use on a regular basis. Kale may provide significant health benefits, including assists in cancer protection and lowered cholesterol. One cup of chopped kale contains calcium , vitamin A, vitamin C, and a whopping amount of bone-building vitamin K. It is also a good source of minerals copper, potassium, iron, manganese, and phosphorus.

Spinach is a healthy source of fibre and contains many nutrients, including vitamin K, calcium, magnesium, folate, vitamin C, iron, manganese, potassium, tryptophan (good for sleep) and other vitamins and minerals.

It is interesting that while most people consume the orange kind of carrots, purple carrots actually contain the largest amount of antioxidants. Beta-carotene, an antioxidant known for its role in protecting the body from free radicals and lowering the risk of cancer, and reducing incidences of diabetes and macular degeneration – probably what carrots are best known for.

Parsley, the Italian flat-leaf variety, packs a healthy range of vitamins and minerals: vitamins A, B-12, C and vitamin K, beta-carotene, folate, iron, protein and calcium. One-half cup fresh parsley fills 10 percent of your daily requirement of iron and has three times the vitamin C as an orange. The abundant chlorophyll in parsley heightens immunity, lowers inflammation, clears toxins, gets rid of mucus and freshens your breath. Parsley also contains alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid that may also help prevent cardiovascular disease and arthritis.

Royal Gala apples provide dietary fibre, vitamin C and antioxidants. Juicy and sweet, oranges are renowned for their high vitamin C. They also give you the benefit of calcium, folate, potassium, thiamine and niacin and magnesium.

Nutritious and Delicious… Get juicing naturally. Yum!
